Silver Medal for U.S. Hockey

Well the results are in, 12 minutes into over time the Canadian Sidney Crosby scored. Sidney also plays for the Pittsburgh Penguins. Gold went to Canada and (weep loudly) silver went to the United States. Alas that is what happened in the Women's Hockey also. The game had you on the edge of your seat the whole time. In the first period the Canadians scored 2 and the U.S. failed to score. Then in the second period the Canadians did not sore while the U.S. got 1 point. In the third period with, 24.0 seconds remaining, the U.S. scored tying the game. From there we went into over time, and the rest I've already told you. I must admit that I was devastated that the U.S. failed to capture gold in both hockey games, however we are ahead in the all around medal count with 9 golds, 15 silver, and 13 bronze. 37 in all we are 7 ahead of our closest competitors, Germany, who have 30 in all. Surprisingly it is the third place country that has the most Gold Medals. Canada the host nation has a grand total of 14 golds, but only 26 medals in all. That about wraps up today's update, hopefully in the upcoming weeks I can do a post about the closing ceremony. Yes I know I said a few weeks, but I'm a busy gal. What do you expect!?

USA V. Canada

Over Time

Short post, I have to get back to the game, but the U.S. Mens Hockey Team scored with 24.0 seconds to go tying the game. We are now in overtime with everyone biting their nail to see who is going to score first. So far no one has scored in this over time. I'll keep you updated. Go Team USA!!!!

U.S. Mens Hockey

Right now the U.S. Mens hockey team is playing the Canadian team for gold medal in the Olympics. The score is 2-1 with Canada leading. We just had the 2nd period and now are having a commercial break. On Sunday the U.S. team beat the Canadians 5-3 which, if I'm correct, is the first time that the U.S. team had beaten the Canadians in hockey in a LONG time. I would say in FOREVER but I'm nowhere near a hockey expert so I won't. Check on my blog soon for more updates!
