Colorado Trip Day 8 (Wednesday 24, 2010)

Everyone spent most of the morning packing and playing around. Veronica’s school had canceled school because of how much snow Golden had received. Uncle Frank had left for work early in the morning so everyone had said goodbye to him the night earlier. Because people weren’t feeling well my dad had booked us a flight at 4:00 pm today. This cut our trip about 4 days short, but because everyone was such a good sport nobody minded. Mom, Juju, and Aunt Silvia went out a shoveled with all of the neighborhood moms. I was stuck inside playing the violin. Then at 1:00 we left for the airport with Aunt Silvia. Everything went fine, and the lines in security weren’t even that bad. We boarded the plane and were off. Dever, Papa and I all sat together. Then the plane touched down in Kansas City, were we waited for a half hour for the other passengers to board. We spent all of that time changing where we were sitting and looking for Spike. The ride to Indianapolis was fairly uneventful, and we touched down at around 9:00 pm. The airport was so deserted I hardly recognized it! While we were getting food in the food court we heard the announcer say Will Nathaniel, Dever, and Sydney Kemme Nash please go down to baggage claim 4 to select their pieces of luggage! Let me tell you that is a first! After a long drive, we arrived home at 1:30 am! Thank to our loyal blog readers who have read every day about our Colorado 2010 exploits! We, overall, had TONS of fun!

Colorado Trip Day 7 (Tuesday 23, 2010)

Everyone awoke a bit disoriented because of the sudden change of last nights plans. Duringthe night it had been decided that we would spend the rest of our trip in Golden. Papa went began driving to the mountains as soon as he woke up so he could finish cleaning to Condo and so that he could return the ski stuff. Veronica was already at school and Uncle Frank was already at work so the only people at the house was Mom, Aunt Silvia, Dever, Juju, and I. After all of us kids helped mom pack up the car. We were going to take a little day trip to Dinosaur Ridge to see some fossils. Right as we were getting in the car we discovered that the battery had run out during the night. We had to call Triple A, and while we were waiting for them to come and jump start the car we all worked on the lawn doing school work. Finally the car was started and we drove away. Everyone loved the fossils! Dever got a stuffed Dinosaur named Spike! Returning home Veronica was back and so was Uncle Frank. Veronica and I did nailswhile Dever and Uncle Frank worked on the computer. After we did nails Veronica and I splatter painted her dresser with nail polish. That evening everyone went into Uncle Frank andAunt Silvia's room to watch the first half hour ofBack to the Future 3. That night as we were going to bed Veronica learned that school had been canceled because of the snow accumulation.Everyone looked forward to spending all of the next day with Aunt Silvia and Veronica!

Colorado Trip Day 6 (Monday 22, 2010)

Everyone was tired from the previous days of ferocious skiing with friends and family. We got a slow start to the morning that mainly consisted of doing school work and playing instruments. After lunch Papa and Juju laid down for a nap while Mom, Dever, and I went to Snow Mountain Ranch's craft barn. While there Dever made a silver alligator that he named Ally! So imaginative! Mom worked on a small box that she will complete the next time that we go to Colorado! I worked on a leather book mark which I am going to give to my teacher at school, Mrs. Grantham. Then at 2:30 pm we went to the Kiva for Rock Climbing! We had a Irish instructor who was very nice and let you climb whichever walls you wanted. Mom belayed with the ropes so that Dever and I could climb. We had a relatively small group so everyone got to climb numerous times. Mom even tried to climb once, and was very surprised when her belly didn't get in the way! After Rock Climbing we went home and relaxed for the rest of the day. While my parents rested downstairs Dever, Juju, and I watched Back to the Future 2. Then around 8:15 my dad came upstairs and told us that because Mom, Dever, and Juju weren't feeling well we were going to go to Golden to stay with Aunt Silvia, Uncle Frank, and Veronica for a couple days. We instantly began packing and by 9:25 we were on the road. We arrived at Veronica's around 11:30 and everyone instantly fell into be exhausted.

Colorado Trip Day 5 (Sunday 21, 2010)

Everyone was tired from the party last night, so we all woke up a little late. Around 10:00 am Papa, Tom, and I drove to the ski resort. At the bottom of the mountain we met up with Shannon and Eddie (Shannon's boyfriend). All of us skied together until about 11:00 am when we met up with Uncle Frank. Meanwhile down at the bottom of the mountain Juju was learning how to ski with Aunt Silvia and Veronica. Having a blast because he got candy every time he went down the run. Meanwhile back at the condo Mom, Dever, Grandma, and Grandpa were hanging out. Back at the mountain all of the skiers, Papa, Tom, Frank, Aunt Silvia, Veronica, and Juju, met at the bottom of the mountain to eat lunch together. It was so nice out that we were able to sit outside for lunch. Shannon and Eddie went off to ski with each other at Mary Jane. After lunch Papa and I went down a few more runs while Tom skied over to Mary Jane where Grandma and Grandpa would pick him up. A few runs later everyone who was left skiing went on the bus to the farthest parking lot ever. There mom picked us up while Aunt Silvia, Uncle Frank, and Veronica set off to Golden where they live! Back at home we all settled down for dinner and the movie, Back to the Future which everyone loved!

Colorado Trip Day 4 (Saturday 20, 2010)

Even though the family all woke up in different condos we all met together at Winter Park at 10:30 am. The assembled crowd was quite large and consisted of Aunt Mary Pat, Uncle Jerry, Shannon, Eddie (Shannon's boyfriend), Aunt Silvia, Uncle Frank, Veronica, Mom, Dever, Grandpa, and I. We all went up the Zephyr in pairs of fours to began our day skiing together. Some of you might be wondering why all most all of the family was assembled at a ski resort, well 1) Everyone in our family loves skiing or snowboarding and 2) It was my Grandpa's 80th birthday so he wanted everyone there. That was why we chose to come to Colorado at this time instead of earlier. We all went down some runs, together. Let me tell you it is NO small feat to try and keep 11 people together on a ski slope. Then we stopped for lunch at Sun Spot were we ate a delicious lunch to keep up our skiing energy. After lunch the restaurant brought out 4 gigantic brownies with candles on one. Then around 7:00 pm we went to the Devil's Thumb Ranch for a dinner, this time the assembled was Aunt Mary Pat, Uncle Jerry, Shannon, Eddie (Shannon's boyfriend), Kelly, Ryan (Kelly's boyfriend), Aunt Silvia, Uncle Frank, Veronica, Mom, Papa, Dever, Grandpa, Grandma, and I. Kelly and Ryan had just gotten into to the Mountains. Later that evening everyone came over to the Condo for cakes and presents. Juju helped Grandpa thank everyone for the presents. Everyone had a great time, Happy Birthday Grandpa!
