Tin Caps Opener to 2010 Season

Once again it is baseball season, that's always a sure sign that it's spring!! Last night the Tin Caps had their season opener baseball game. The night was extremely cold so everyone was sure to bundle up.

Lizzy picked Dever and me up around six and we went to Clara's, which is a wonderful pizza place where you can order your pizza over a phone that they provide at your table! We met Jenny there and settled down to some wonderful sausage pizza. Jenny was telling us that because of the cold 2 of her friends were going to stay home, and they wondered if we could use the tickets? Of course we said YES and I called the Speckhards to see if any one wanted to come. Maria did so we picked her up on the way to the game.

The Tin Caps started their season off with a bang winning 7-2 against the Bowling Green Hot Rods. Interesting name isn't it??? The stadium was crowded, but we had scored good seats at the very back of the outfield. The seats were even padded! A ball flew into the seats, like 5 feet away from us!!

Since it was so cold out we were piled under blankets to keep the cold out!! Dever and Lizzy went to get hot chocolate to warm us up. Unfortunately the Hot Chocolate Making People were extraordinarily busy so by the time we got our hot chocolate it had changed into some thing we called chocolate water!!

Oh well, it was great going so thank you to everyone who made it possible!!

Spring at Last

One of the things that I love most about Fort Wayne is that the seasons change so quickly!!! There is no transition season. Here in Fort Wayne we've just began spring arguably one of my favorite times of year. The tulips are all flowering so the park looks heavely! Yes spring could be one of the best times of year. When we had the tulip tree that would be in bloom about now, did you know that the tulip tree is the state tree of Indiana. I hope everyone had a great Easter. I know we did, the Sunday service was beautiful and quite touching. We had about 9 Easter Egg hunts at my grandparent, with real eggs. That was the first time I've ever had an Easter Egg hunt with real eggs. Later in the afternoon we had an Easter Egg hunt with plastic eggs because the hard boiled ones were to beat up to use again!! I hope you had a blessed Easter! Jesus lives again, hip hip hooray!!
